Does Hinge Signals mean someone is active?
Not necessarily—and definitely not in real time. The badge reflects recent eligibility patterns, not a live online status.
What the badge can tell you
An active Signals badge indicates that a profile currently meets Hinge’s baseline requirements and recent participation criteria. It may provide context that someone has used the app thoughtfully during the evaluation period.
What it cannot tell you
- Whether the person is online right now
- Whether they are currently swiping
- Who they are messaging
- Whether they are still available to date
- Whether they will respond to you
Why the distinction matters
Signals eligibility is refreshed daily and is not real-time. A badge can remain visible after the behavior that contributed to it occurred. It should not be treated as proof of current activity—or as evidence about a partner’s relationship behavior.
If a relationship concern brought you here, the badge alone cannot resolve it. A direct conversation will give you more reliable information than trying to reverse-engineer an app status.
